Starting an Instant Videocall

To access the senior, you need to know their g2gConnect username and password - which they or the community's staff can provide.  Click Start, and enter the username and password

When you see their picture, or their community's picture, click on Call.

As soon as the senior clicks or touches their screen, you will be able to see each other.

We recommend you start your communication using a regular telephone, and invite the other party to the videocalling unit so you can see each other.  Once both of you are in front of your respective webcams, you may pick up the headsets, or continue the conversation over the phone.

Enjoy!

Thank you for using g2gConnect video calling services.  g2gConnect provides instant video connection to senior communities and to seniors who have a g2gConnect videocalling device.  If this is your first time on g2gConnect, please read the following tips to ensure you and your loved one enjoy a pleasant experience.

IF YOU ARE NOT USING A PHONE FOR THE AUDIO, PLEASE USE HEADSETS

Always use a headset. This will ensure that your party at the senior community does not hear any feedback and echos of their own voice resulting from your computer’s speaker/microphone interaction.

If the senior is not wearing a headset, you may hear a slight echo of your own voice. This is natural. To eliminate the echo, ask your senior to put on their headset.

USING ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

g2gConnect obtains and displays the video feeds from your webcam using Adobe Flash Player.  Please ensure you have a webcam installed on your PC, and the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer or smartphone.  You can download Adobe Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.

For your security, Adobe Flash Player will ask permission to access your webcam so you can be seen by your party at the senior living community. Click "Allow" to enable video transmission. To avoid repeating this step every time, you can have Flash Player "remember" this setting. You need do this only once.  Bring up the Adobe Flash Player Control Screen (below left) by right-clicking (Control-Click on Mac) on the small image of yourself at the top right of the screen.  Select Settings, and you will see the Settings screen (below). On the Settings screen, click on the "Eye" (second icon from bottom left) then click on Allow and Remember, then click on Close.
